Motorola has announced the 64GB variant of its flagship smartphone, Moto X, almost a year after the device was launched. The new variant to be released in the United States, will be priced $449 (approximately ₹26,500).
The announcement came just a few days after Motorola slashed the price of Moto X 32GB edition (no-contract) by $100 (approximately ₹5,900) for Republic Wireless subscribers.
Moto X 64GB variant will cost $100 more than the 32GB device.
Motorola's next-generation smartphone, Moto X was released in August last year. It arrived in India only in March 2014 with a price tag of ₹23,999 but its features like innovative voice-command and gesture-control, coupled with a reasonable price tag reportedly gave other high-end phones a run for their money.
The unique design of Moto X with sloping edge near the corners, the bump in middle and its 4.7-inch body makes a perfect combination for one-hand usage, beside its appealing looks. The users of the smartphone can also have a comfortable grip of the handset.
Motorola's flagship smartphone also has two more special utility cores - one natural language processor core and a contextual processor core.
Natural language processor powers the 'Touchless Control' feature of Moto X. Users can just say 'OK, Google Now' to make calls, send a text message, set an alarm, ask for direction on Google map, play music and several other functions without touching the screen.
Contextual processor core enables the smartphone to display time or any other notifications on the screen with the help of motion sensors. The device displays the time or any pending notifications without having to unlock the phone, as the sensors can make out when the user is about to pick the handset.
