Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo special episode set to air on December 5; Wang So, Hae Soo return?

The fans of popular South Korean period drama Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo have always been interested in watching a special episode with an alternate ending for Prince Wang So a.k.a King Gwangjong and Hae Soo. That is why there is a major buzz about the show's return on SBS this Monday, December 5.

There were a lot of speculations about the special episode ever since cast member Lee Ji-eun a.k.a IU updated her Instagram page. She uploaded two images related to her character in the Korean mini-series last month. While the location still featured the court lady with her daughter, the photo from the post production room hinted at a reunion for the onscreen couple.

Even actor Lee Joon-gi indicated a happy ending for the king of Goryeo Dynasty and his mistress. While thanking his fans for making the character popular, he said, "I hope he is happier in his next life, and that he stays happy with Hae Soo for a long, long time."

Additionally, the popularity of the lead cast members has been pushing SBS for the renewal of Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo or to air a special episode of the show.

However, the high television ratings of its preceding show Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim and the pending contract renewal of its cast members propelled several buzz about its cancellation.

Meanwhile, a twitter page created by the followers of the show stated that they are yet to receive any updates about a special episode with alternate ending. "No updates on the special episodes until now. Are they just teasing us? We know they won't just post something like these for nothing," read the tweet.

The fans even expressed their disappointments on the negligence of the production company BaramiBunda. According to them, the firm was very reluctant to communicate with them when they contacted it with a request for a complete Blu-ray or DVD edition with reedited episodes and deleted scenes.

"It was obvious that they were not willing to do anything for the fans. Thus, we have decided to hereby conclude our efforts of relaying the fans' wishes to the production company of Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo," stated an admirer of the show.
