Five years after the success of English Vinglish, Sridevi is back with a different role in Mom. The trailer was unveiled by the makers on Saturday, June 3, and going by the short video, the suspense thriller looks intriguing with nail-biting moments.
The trailer starts with Sridevi's character Devki asking a question: "Galat aur bohot galat mein se chun na ho, toh aap kya chunenge?" (What would you do if you were supposed to choose between what's worse and worst?)
Devki is a mother of two daughters and while everything seems fine in the family, the trailer gives a glimpse of another side of the story - a complex relationship between Devki and her daughter, Arya. As the trailer progresses, a mishap occurs in the family, which puts Devki in a challenging situation.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays a crucial role in the film. The actor looks almost unrecognisable with protruding teeth and semi-bald look. Apart from Sridevi and Nawazuddin, the movie also stars Akshaye Khanna, Abhimanyu Singh and Pitobash Tripathy in key roles.
Directed by Ravi Udyawar and co-produced by Boney Kapoor, Sunil Manchanda, Mukesh Talreja, Naresh Agarwal and Gautam Jain, Mom is scheduled to hit the screens on July 7. The film will clash with Shraddha Kapoor's Haseena.
