Even though the hype around "Mohenjo Daro" was lukewarm as compared to Akshay Kumar's "Rustom," no one expected Hrithik Roshan's ambitious project to trail by a large margin. "Mohenjo Daro" collected Rs. 8.87 crore (nett) at the Indian box office on the first day, while "Rustom" raked in Rs. 14.11 crore.

Although it's too soon to declare if the film is a flop or a hit, some of the social media users seem to have tagged "Mohenjo Daro" already; they are calling it a flop.

Here are some tweets:

Tejan Shrivastava: Meanwhile, Udta Crocodile failed to show growth on Day 2. Big flop its gonna be now. #MohenjoDaro

However, not everyone is writing the film off and are hopeful that it will pick up at the box office in the coming days.

"Mohenjo Daro" is, at the heart of it, a love story between Sarman (Hrithik), an indigo peasant from a village far-off, and Chaani (Pooja Hegde), who enjoys a princessly status in the city of Mohenjodaro. Kabir Bedi and Arunoday Singh essay a scheming, with the evil father-son duo committed to do whatever it takes to be in power.

In other news, the second day collection of "Mohenjo Daro" (as per early estimates) is Rs. 9.50 crore and "Rustom" made an impressive Rs. 16 crore (nett) in the domestic circuit.
