For those who have been eagerly waiting for Mohanlal's upcoming film "Loham", here is the happy news.
According to popular Malayalam website Manorama Online, the release date of Mohanlal starrer is currently scheduled for 20 August.
"Loham", with tag line "Yellow Metal", is one of the most awaited films of Mohanlal. The movie, which is shot extensively at various locations in Kozhikode, Kochi and Dubai, will be a crime thriller based on gold smuggling and Mohanlal, as per reports, will be playing an intriguing character of a taxi driver.
"Loham" is directed by Ranjith and this is the fifth movie of the ace filmmaker with Mohanlal. Ranjith has previously directed the superstar in films like "Ravana Prabhu", "Rock & Roll", "Chandrolsavam" and "Spirit".
"Spirit", which was released in 2012, turned out to be one of the most noticeable films of the year as it dealt with the issue of alcoholism in Kerala. The movie fetched several awards that year, including National Film Awards for Best Film on Social Issue.
Reports are that "Loham" is the revised version of Ranjith's "G for Gold", which was dropped earlier. Reports had also stated that Manju Warrier was part of the movie, but it was learnt later that she was dropped from the project.
The film has also an ensemble star cast of Andreah Jeremiah, Ajmal Ameer, Siddhique, Renji Panicker, Harish Peradi, Mythili, VK Prakash, Tini Tom, Thesni Khan, Joju George, Gauri Nanda, and Ashvin A Mathew. Stars like Aju Varghese, Srinda Arhaan, Pearly Maney, Mani Kuttan and Mani Kuttan will also be making guest appearances in the movie.
"Loham" is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirwad Cinemas that had also produced Ranjith's "Ravanaprabhu" and "Spirit".
