Telugu actor Dr Mohan Babu completed 40 years in the film industry on 22 November, and has been flooded with congratulatory messages from his fans and celebrities from the industry.
Mohan Babu started his career as a physical education instructor at the YAMCA College. He got an opportunity to work with director Lakshmi Deepak as an apprentice in 1969. Having spent many years behind the camera, he started as an actor in 1974 films "Kannavari Kalalu" and "Alluri Seetha Rama Raju".
But it was director Dasari Narayana Rao's 1975 movie "Swargam Narakam" which gave Mohan Babu his first major break. Since then, there is no look back for this talented actor, who has gone on to feature in over 550 films including 175 times in the lead. He has also produced several movies.
"Alludugaru" (1990), "Assembly Rowdy" (1991), "Rowdy Gari Pellam" (1991), "Allari Mogudu" (1992), "Brahma" (1992), "Major Chandrakanth" (1993), "Peddarayudu" (1995), "Adavilo Anna" (1997) and "Veedevadandi Babu" (1997) are some of Mohan Babu's best contributions to Telugu cinema. He has been honoured with several awards and degrees for his work.
Mohan Babu's daughter Lakshmi and sons Vishnu and Manoj Manchu are also talented actors, and have featured in over 70 movies together. They are all thrilled by their father's contribution to the industry and held a function to celebrate the completion of his 40 years in cinema.
