Modi should resign: Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Protest Outside PM's Residence; Congress MPs Detained By Delhi Police

The political battle over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and the police crackdown on the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) 'Sansad Chalo' protest intensified on Tuesday as Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and senior Congress leaders staged a protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official residence in New Delhi, demanding his resignation.

The demonstration was led by Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and several other party leaders, who accused the Centre of failing to protect the interests of students and alleged that peaceful protesters were subjected to excessive police force during Monday's clashes in the national capital.

Raising slogans against the government, the Congress leaders demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought accountability for the alleged police action against students participating in the CJP-led protest over examination irregularities and the NEET-UG paper leak.

Rahul Gandhi accused the government of remaining silent over the violence and said the voices of students could not be suppressed. He asserted that the Opposition would continue to raise the issue both inside and outside Parliament until accountability was fixed.

The protest comes a day after violent clashes erupted during the CJP's 'Sansad Chalo' march towards Parliament, where demonstrators demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak were stopped by Delhi Police. The confrontation left both protesters and police personnel injured and further escalated the political confrontation between the Opposition and the Centre.
