Prime Minister Narendra Modi met World Bank President Jim Yong Kim on 23 July. During the meeting, Kim extended his support to India with a loan of $18 billion from the World Bank to help boost economy and reduce poverty.

Modi expressed gratitude for the offer and said that he would be happy to get ideas from World Bank to boost "not only mass production but also on production by masses, which will benefit our workforce," government statement said.

Later in the day, Modi along with Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Union Ministers Sushma Swaraj, M Venkaiah Naidu, LK Advani and other BLP leaders paid tribute to Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his birth anniversary.

Modi also released a biography of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Braille transcript prepared by A Saibaba Goud in the presence of Member of Parliament Bandaru Dattatreya.
