Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's remark, "Modi ka baap bhi jayega," has triggered a political controversy after an interruption during his address at an event in Patna, Bihar, on Sunday. Kharge was speaking at the 139th birth anniversary celebration of former Bihar chief minister Dr Shri Krishna Singh when a person in the audience reportedly said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not go anywhere. Responding to the remark, Kharge said, "Modi ka baap bhi jayega," triggering a row.
During his address, Kharge also targeted PM Modi over his promise to bring back black money. He alleged that the Prime Minister had a habit of lying and questioned what had happened to the money he had promised to bring back within the first 100 days of his government.

Kharge also launched an attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), saying that peace would not prevail in the country as long as its ideology continued. He accused the RSS and BJP of promoting views that were against the Constitution and criticised the practice of untouchability.
The Congress president also questioned Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's decision to join the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), saying that Kumar had entered politics with a socialist ideology but had aligned himself with the BJP and RSS.
