Two moderate intensity earthquakes struck Maharashtra and Gujarat on Saturday morning.

According to Indian Meteorology Department reports, an earthquake measuring 4.9, with Satara as its epicenter, rocked some parts of Maharashtra.

Another quake measuring 4 on Richter scale struck the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.

The tremors of mild earthquake that jolted Maharashtra were also reportedly felt in areas of Karnataka bordering Maharashtra.

Indian film super star Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter as soon as he experienced the morning tremors in Mumbai that shook his residence twice. He tweeted, "Earthquake in Mumbai !! Did you feel it .. I did ! Shutters and building shook twice for few seconds .. all good here .. all else ?"

There are no reports of life or property damage caused by the earthquakes.

On Wednesday, different parts of India felt quakes after an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.7 Richter scale hit the Aceh province in Indonesia. The tremors were so strong that few of the buildings across India reportedly received cracks. However, there were no reports of injuries or heavy property damages.

The quake that ripped across the Indonesia caused the fear of unleashing possible tsunami in Indian Ocean like the one happened on December 26, 2004.  However, no such disaster took place as feared.
