The path to being crowned Miss World is a long and perhaps an arduous journey for contestants on the oldest surviving beauty pageant. The challenges that take place before the finale are varied and test the participants' ability to walk the runway, exhibit their talent, excel in sports and look stunning, of course.

Traditionally, there are five challenges that take place before the finale. These include the talent round, Sports and Fitness challenge, Multimedia Award, People's Choice Award and Top Model.

So far, Miss Guyana and Miss Namibia have stamped their victory in two important challenges -Talent and Sports and Fitness.

Talent Competition

The vocal stylings of Lisa Punch (Guyana) won her the talent round. She sang an original composition titled, "One Last Time," which according to reports, is a tribute to her late cousin.

After winning the title, the 23-year-old said, "This victory means everything to me. This proves that my cousin was right, and I thank him and everyone in the audience for making my dream come true."
