Miss Venezuela Alyz Henrich won the Miss Earth 2013 title at the beauty pageant held at Versailles Palace in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Philippines on Saturday.
The three runners up are: Miss Korea Catharina Choi, who was awarded Miss Earth Fire 2013; Miss Thailand Punika Kulsoontornrut, who was awarded Miss Earth Water 2013; and Miss Austria Katia Wagner, who was awarded Miss Earth Air 2013.
Miss Earth 2012 Tereza Fajksova of Czech Republic crowned Alyz Henrich at the glittering ceremony hosted by British actor Oli Pettigrew and model Linda Black.
This is the second beauty pageant title for Venezuela this year, after Gabriela Isler won the coveted Miss Universe 2013 title last month.
Alyz Henrich beat 89 contestants from across the world to win the title. She had earlier made it to the top eight finalists, along with Catharina Choi, Katia Wagner, Punika Kulsoontornrut, Miss Mexico Kristal Silva, Miss Poland Aleksandra Szczesna, Miss Philippines Angelee delos Reyes and Miss Serbia Andjelka Tomasevic.
Miss India Earth contestant Shobita Dhulipala, who won the Miss Photogenic and Eco-beauty titles, was considered as one of the strongest contenders but she failed to make it to the top 16.
