Micromax YU Yureka Flash Sale 2.0 to Start on Amazon India from 22 January [Update]

Micromax's official e-commerce affiliate Amazon India is all geared up for the 22 January YU Yureka flash sale.

The company has confirmed that the flash sale will kick-off tomorrow afternoon 2:00pm. However, there is no mention of how many units will be up for grabs.

Last week, YU Yureka flash sale was marred by controversies. There was confusion over the actual number of devices sold; also, some buyers were billed ₹3500 extra over the MRP ₹8,999.

Later, Amazon acknowledged the error in the device billing. It offered to fix the glitch and reimburse the extra amount back to customers.[View the Twitter post below]

However, Amazon declined to reveal the stock details of YU Yureka on 13 January flash sale. It was said that it could sell only 3,000 units, 7,000 less than what was promised prior to the sale.

Thankfully, Micromax came to its rescue and categorically shot down the rumours. The company in an interview with NDTV Gadgets said there were 10,000 units available for sale on the same day.

All said and done, there is still one question among customers: how much units will the company offer on 22 January?

Last week, more than more than 3 lakh people had got registered for the flash sale and it took only 3 seconds for all 10,000 units get sold out. Eager buyers were disappointed over not getting their hands on to the Micromax device and went on social network to vent their anger over the company's dubious sales strategy of selling to just 3 percent of the buyers registered.  

Rival Xiaomi too faced same reaction from the Indian public in its initial days in the subcontinent but over time, the company has improved.

We expect Micromax also to scale up its inventory in future flash sales.
