Home bred smartphone maker Yu Televentures, a subsidiary of Micromax, is all geared up for the Yureka flash sale on 13 January.
The company has confirmed that there will be 10,000 units of Yureka up grabs on Amazon India, from Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 pm. However, that's grossly disproportional to the number of people who have registered for the phone.
The company has registered more than 3 lakh people for the flash sale, according to PTI and tomorrow's flash sale is likely to turn out to be a virtual stampede like the one that takes place when Xiaomi conducts sale on a weekly basis on Flipkart.
When asked why there is such a low number of units put on sale, Rahul Sharma, head of YU brand (and Co-founder of Micromax), said that the company didn't expect this kind of overwhelming response from the public.
They had to close down the registration on 24 December, one day prior to the official closure of the window.
YU Televentures is a start-up company and will try to scale up the production to meet the demand in coming days, he said.
In a related development, rival Xiaomi is also hosting flash sale of its own on Tuesday (13 January. Redmi 1S and Redmi Note 4G will go on sale at Flipkart.
