Home-bred smartphone-maker Micromax has launched a new feature-rich budget handset dubbed as Canvas Xpress 2 in India on Monday, 27 Juy.

The new Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 sports 5.0-inch HD display and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS out-of-the-box.

Under the hood, it houses a MediaTek Octa-core CPU backed by 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory and a 2,500mAh battery, which can run the phone for close to 393 hours under standby mode.

It also boasts 13mp camera with dual-LED flash, auto-focus and a 2mp snapper on the front.

Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 price and release details:

The company has reportedly confirmed that the new Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 will be sold exclusively on Flipkart for just ₹5,999. It will be retailed via flash sale on 3 August and the registration window has been opened on Flipkart starting on Monday (27 July) evening at 6pm.

Competition:

Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 comes with a sub-₹6,000 price tag, making it the cheapest smartphone to boast HD display and Octa-core CPU in the market. It is poised to give stiff challenge to the popular Xiaomi Redmi 2, second generation Motorola Moto E (both 3G and LTE models) and also might cannibalise the sister brand YU Yuphoria.
