Home-bred consumer electronics major Micromax launched a new budget smartphone dubbed as the Canvas Fire 5 on Wednesday.

As the name suggests, the Canvas Fire 5 is the successor of the company's budget phone 4.5-inch Canvas Fire 4, which was released in March last year. It comes with huge upgrade in terms of size and internal hardware over its predecessor.

The new Micromax phone sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS screen and comes packed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, MediaTek quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage and a 2500mAh battery, which can keep the phablet awake for more than 450 hours under standby mode.

Micromax Canvas Fire 5 price:

The new Micromax Canvas Fire 5 is priced Rs. 6,199 and comes in three colour options, Champagne, Grey and Silver.

Competition:

The new Canvas Fire 5 will be up against the recently-launched Asus Zenfone 4.5 Go (2nd Gen), Moto E (2nd gen), BLU Life Mark and Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, among others.
