Micromax Canvas Engage A091 with Android KitKat OS Available Online in India; Price, Specification Details

A new Micromax budget smartphone Canvas Engage A091 has reportedly been released in India.

Though the company is yet to officially announce the smartphone, online retailer, e-bay India has already begun selling the Canvas Engage A091 for ₹6,199. It sports 4.0-inch WVGA screen and runs the Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS powered by a quad-core CPU backed by 512MB RAM, 4GB inbuilt storage with options of expansion up to 32GB via microSD card.

The budget device also boasts of dual-cameras- a 5.0-megapixel primary camera on the rear-side and 0.3-megapixel (VGA) snapper on the front side for video chatting. It is powered by a 1500 mAh battery, which can provide backup for up to 5.5 hours of talk-time and close to 200 hours under standby time.

Canvas Engage A091 is the second KitKat OS based device to roll out from Micromax in a span of one week. Few days ago, the company released Unite 2 in India. It is more superior to the newly released phone Canvas Engage. It flaunts a 4.7-inch WVGA (480x800p) IPS screen and ships with the 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor coupled with Mali 400 MP2 graphics engine.

The sudden shift in gear to launch multiple budget smartphones by Micromax seems to be attributed to the newly launched MNC branded Motorola Moto E, which is making waves in the Indian budget smartphone sector. By incorporating the latest OS and value added features like Corning Gorilla Glass 3 shield, water-splash resistant coating on the phone, Motorola has raised the bar for rivals.

It's no surprise that Moto E, which was launched twice (14 May and 23 May) for ₹6,999 in India got sold out on the same day. Motorola's official retailer partner, Flipkart has stopped taking orders temporarily and has promised to replenish stocks soon.
