Popular online store Saholic has listed the much-anticipated next generation Micromax Canvas 4 A117 smartphone on its website.
Before the company could officially launch the smartphone, Spice Group owned e-commerce website, Saholic has gone ahead to reveal the speculated features of the Canvas 4 A117(White model). The retailer mentioned that the coveted Micromax device will be up for sale by 30 June, but chose to remain silent on its price.
Saholic claims that the Canvas 4 A117 will sport a 5.0-inch TFT LCD screen and run on Android mobile OS v4.2 Jelly Bean with 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory which can be expanded up to 64GB through microSD card.
Canvas 4 A117 will house a 13.0-megapixel camera with LED flash support on the rear side and a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera on the front.
The website also revealed that the next generation Canvas smartphone would pack a 1.7GHz quad-core processor. Many Micromax fans will be disappointed with this news as a number of tech blogs as well as Micromax's second teaser video had hinted that a monster 8-core processor would power the new device.
Earlier in the week, Micromax had released a promotional picture ad to take a dig at Apple, Android and BlackBerry smartphones which feature - horizontal slide, swipe and button-based screen un-locking techniques.
The new teaser image's tagline read -"Slide, Swipe, Press to unlock....What's next?"- hinting that Canvas 4 might come with a new innovative screen un-locking feature, most probably a finger-print or a face-recognition based scanner.
According to various reports, metal clad Canvas 4 is expected to hit retail stores next month with an estimated price-tag of around ₹20,000.
