Micromax, a fast-emerging Indian company which had changed the scenario of the smartpone market with the launch of its Canvas series, has released its latest handset - A110Q Canvas 2, for ₹12,100.

The handset which made its debut a few days back on the company's website is now available for purchase through various e-retailers like Snapdeal, Infibeam, and Saholic where it is listed for ₹11,999. The 22-year-old company, which struck success with its A116 Canvas HD smartphone, hopes to achieve the same with its newly-launched device.

On the specifications front, A110Q Canvas 2 sports a 5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with a 854 x 480 pixel resolution backed by a 1.2GHz quad-core MT6589 processor. The handset runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and packs 1GB RAM along with 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot. On the connectivity front, the device supports GSM, GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and USB 2.0.

Other specifications include an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 2000mAh battery which claims to give a standby time of 280 hours and six hours of talktime, support for audio/video formats like MP3, MIDI, AAC, MP4, MKV, 3GP and many more. It comes with preinstalled M!Live app which allows users to download unlimited songs.

 The smartphone is pitted against recently-launched devices such as Karbonn Titanium S5, Lava Xolo A1000, Zen Ultrafone 701 HD and Celkon A119Q Signature HD.
