Chinese consumer electronics major Vivo launched two new smartphones â€" V3 and V3Max in India.

"It gives me immense pleasure to announce the launch of our innovation, the V3 and V3Max for the Indian market. The V series designed with creativity and equipped with state of art technology will be a landmark for Vivo India," Alex Feng, CEO of Vivo India, said in a statement.

"India remains our prime focus and the launch of these models is a testimony of our commitment to cater to the ever growing demand of meticulous customers in India and worldwide. The V3 and V3Max offer an unbeatable proposition of cutting edge technology, impressive looks and Hi-Fi music quality in the industry," Feng added.

As the name suggests, V3Max is the top-end phone among the two. It flaunts premium metal-body and on the front, it flaunts 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass.

Under the hood, it comes packed with 64-bit class Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core SoC (System-on-Chip), 4GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory and a 3000mAh battery.

On the other hand, Vivo V3 too features metal cover, but comes with a smaller 5.0-inch HD screen. It houses 64-bit class Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and a 2,550mAh battery.

Both V3 and V3Max come with fingerprint sensor and boast same camera hardware. They sport a 13MP camera with LED flash, HDR, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) on the back and an 8MP snapper on the front.

In India, the new Vivo V3 and V3Max are priced at Rs. 17,980 and Rs. 23,980, respectively.

Competition:

5.0-inch Vivo V3 will be up against the popular OnePlus X, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Oppo F1 and Moto G (3rd Gen) and others. On the other hand, the Vivo V3Max is poised to give a stiff challenge to YU Yureka, OnePlus 2, Moto X Style and the newly-launched Oppo F1 Plus Samsung Galaxy S7 series.
