Chinese consumer electronics company Xiaomi today (16 July) unveiled its feature-rich Mi TV 2S series smart television and a Mi Water purifier.
Xiaomi Mi TV 2S:
The new Mi TV 2S boasts a 48.0-inch 4K resolution display with an all metal (Aluminum) body having just 9.9 mm thickness, making it the one of the slimmest television sets in the market.
The company claims that the new TV display supports 4K lossless quality with 4:4:4 ratio.
Under the hood, it comes packed with Android 5.0 Lollipop based MIUI TV OS and is backed by MStar (6A928) processor with 1.4GHz Cortex A17 quad-cores, Mali T760MP4 graphics engine, 2GB RAM, 8GB storage and Dolby audio system. On the connectivity front, it features Bluetoot 4.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 ac), HDMI 2.0 port, USB v3.0 ports.
Like the earlier Mi TV series, the new model too is available at a pocket-friendly price of RMB 2,999 (around $483/€443/₹30,660) for a standard edition.
The special cinema edition costs RMB 3,999 (around $644/€591/₹40,890), less than half the price of comparable top-end Samsung, Sony and Sharp television sets.
Both will be available in five colours and go on sale on the company's official e-Store Mi.com from 28 July.
Xiaomi Mi Water:
Besides the new Mi TV 2S, Xiaomi also unveiled a portable Mi Water purifier.
The compact Mi Water purifier measures 205.0 x 260.0 x 410.0 mm in dimension. The smart water purifier can be monitored via smartphone. It can send water quality test results and also filter change reminders to the device.
Mi Water boasts RO (Reverse Osmosis) technology to clean water of impurities at an out-flow rate of 1litre per minute. It also comes with taste enhancer and odour control system.
The Xiaomi Mi Water purifier costs RNB 1299 (around $210/€192/₹13,300). It will also go on sale from 28 July via Mi.com.
