Meizu Officially Launches M2 Note with Octa-Core SoC; Price, Specifications

Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has unveiled a new budget phablet, dubbed as M2 Note in China, on Tuesday, 2 June.

The second generation M Note series phablet looks strikingly similar to its predecessor sans some cosmetics changes on the front side and its chiseled body, making it a tad slim too. Key improvement is the inclusion of physical 'mBack' home button on the front side. Based on the finger's pressure, the mBack button performs dual functions. If pressed lightly, it takes users to recent apps mode or if more pressure is put on the button, it takes you to the home screen.

Another interesting feature of M2 Note is that it comes with dual-capability tray card, wherein it comes with one SIM slot and a micro-SD card support.

Other stipulated features include 5.5-inch full HD screen, Flyme 4.5 OS (Android 5.0 Lollipop), 64-bit class Mediatek Octa-core SoC (System on Chip), 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB inbuilt memory and 3100 mAh battery.

Meizu M2 Note Release and price details:

The company has reportedly confirmed that the new Meizu M2 Note will initially be made available in China in two variants,16GB and 32GB, for ¥799 Yuan (around $129/€117/₹8,238) and ¥999 Yuan ($161/€147/₹10,300), respectively.

There is no word on when Meizu would release the new M2 Note in India, but considering that the M1 Note was launched just a few days ago, it's successor won't be setting its foot in the subcontinent any time soon.
