Malayalam megastar Mammootty celebrates his 64th birthday on Monday, 7 September.

The actor celebrated his birthday with the school children at Gregorian Public School in Marad, Ernakulam on Monday.

The actor, who began his career in Malayalam in KS Sethumadhavan's 1971 film "Anubhavangal Paalichakal", has been an inevitable part of the industry since. 

He played his first lead role in MT Vasudevan Nair unfinished project "Devalokam" in 1979 but his first release was "Vilkkanundu Swapnangal" (1980). The three times National Film Award winner was last seen in popular filmmaker Kamal's "Utopiayile Rajavu".

A few days ago, a music video dedicated to Mammookka was doing the rounds on social media. In the video, many stars of the industry like Jayaram, Suraj Venjaarumoodu, Rahman, Narain, Aju Varghese, Riyaz Khan, Tiny Tom, Guinness Pakru, Abu Salim, Saiju Kurup, Padmaraj Ratheesh and "Manglish" director Salam Bappu, were seen wishing the superstar.

The song, sung by popular singer Rimi Tomy, also shows some of the best roles Mammootty has played in Malayalam films. The music video, penned, composed and directed by Lijo Johnson, has gone viral on social media since its release.
