MediaTek on Thursday unveiled its latest flagship processors, Dimensity 9500s and Dimensity 8500, at its annual Tech Day in Delhi, complete with next-generation performance, AI capabilities, and power efficiency in high-end smartphones.
OPPO has announced that its upcoming Find X9s smartphone in India will be powered by the newly launched Dimensity 9500s, expanding its flagship Find X9 lineup.
MediaTek said both chipsets are built around its "All-Big Core" architecture and are designed to deliver improvements across performance, energy efficiency, gaming, imaging, AI processing, and wireless connectivity for flagship and premium devices.
JC Hsu, Corporate Senior Vice President at MediaTek and General Manager of its Wireless Communications Business Unit, said the company is focused on making advanced technologies more widely accessible while continuing to push performance and efficiency boundaries. He added that the new Dimensity platforms reflect MediaTek's intent to scale flagship experiences across more smartphones.
Dimensity 9500s targets flagship segment
Manufactured on a 3nm process, the Dimensity 9500s features an octa-core CPU configuration comprising one Cortex-X925 ultra core clocked at up to 3.73GHz, three Cortex-X4 premium cores, and four Cortex-A720 performance cores. The chipset integrates the Immortalis-G925 GPU with support for advanced ray tracing.
The SoC also includes an enhanced NPU optimised for generative reasoning and multimodal AI models, enabling advanced on-device AI use cases such as computational photography and content creation. MediaTek said the Dimensity 9500s supports 8K full-focus Dolby Vision HDR video recording with real-time motion tracking via its Imagiq ISP.
Additional features include Adaptive Game Technology 3.0 and Frame Rate Conversion 3.0 for improved energy efficiency during gaming, a 5G Release-17 modem supporting up to 7Gbps downlink speeds, MediaTek 5G UltraSave 4.0 power-saving technology, and AI Network Suite 2.0 to improve connectivity in weak signal environments. The chipset also supports Xtra Range 3.0 technology for extended indoor Wi-Fi coverage and long-range Bluetooth device-to-device connections.
OPPO Find X9s to join flagship lineup
Speaking at the event, Goldee Patnaik, Head of Communications at OPPO India, confirmed that the company will soon introduce the Find X9s in India as a new addition to the Find X9 series.
"Building on the success of the Find X9 series powered by Dimensity 9500, including multiple industry awards received by Find X9 Pro, OPPO will soon introduce Find X9s in India, a new addition to the Find X9 series powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9500s. As the entry point into OPPO's flagship ecosystem, it reflects a refined and balanced approach shaped by our engineering philosophy, with more details to be shared through our official communication," Patnaik said in a statement.
According to OPPO, the Find X9s will act as the entry point into its flagship ecosystem while offering a balanced mix of performance, efficiency, and premium features shaped by the company's engineering philosophy.
Further details about the device are expected to be announced closer to launch.
