Indian handset maker Maxx Mobiles announced the launch of two Android smartphones - AX8 Race and AX9Z Race, with a price tag of ₹8,875 and ₹12,375, respectively.

The lower-end AX8 Race dual SIM smartphone boasts of a 5-inch capacitive touch display with 480x800 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1GHz single-core MediaTek Processor. The phone runs on the outdated Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. In terms of memory, the handset packs 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The phone hosts an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It is powered by 2,300mAH battery which claims to give 230 hours of standby time. AX8 Race supports connectivity features like 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0 and comes in Black and White colour options.

On the other hand, the AX9Z Race smartphone comes with a 5.3-inch capacitive touch display with a resolution of 540x960 pixels and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Mediatek processor. Unlike the AX8 Race, this handset uses Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Other specifications of the smartphone includes 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD card, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel front facing camera and 2300mAh battery. It supports 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity options in addition to FM radio. Although most of the features are similar as that of AX8 Race, the phone is priced higher.
