Masaba Gupta, husband Madhu Mantena announce separation after 3 years of marriage

Celebrated fashion designer Masaba Gupta and husband Madhu Mantena have amicably decided to go on a trial separation after three years of marriage. They took the decision after consulting with their parents and professionals. However, they are still hoping to find reconciliation in their individual paths and have requested privacy to figure out their marriage.

Masaba, the daughter of veteran actor Neena Gupta and cricketer Vivian Richards, posted their joint statement on Instagram.

"To, Our family,friends,acquaintances,

With a lot of sadness,Madhu & I have today decided to go on a trial separation in our marriage.

Both of us have taken this decision after consulting professionals & our parents. The only thing we are ready to say for now is that "What we both want out of life individually & separately is putting unnecessary pressure on the marriage & love that we share. Hence,we would like to take some time off from each other and our marriage to figure out for ourselves what we want out of this life."

We also want to say that this is a tough time for us & we want to really protect our privacy at this time. We still hope to find reconciliation in our individual paths & dreams and hence this privacy is important for us for now. We are not strong enough to explain ourselves to even friends who deserve an answer from us. These friends,we realise are equally invested in our relationship & our individual well being. All we can say to each of them is give us time and give us love when we reach out to you. We now need a lot of it :).

While we know,given the world and lives that we live in will lead to speculation,rumours & dragging us down into the dirt in this time....We are communicating and encouraging each other to be brave and reminding ourselves that the only priority at this time,is the well-being & protection of our own selves & our families.

Masaba Gupta and filmmaker Madhu Mantena had tied the knot on June 2, 2015, after getting engaged at a lavish hotel in Mumbai on March 9, 2015.

The couple had then hosted a grand reception party on November 22, 2015, which was attended by several Bollywood celebs, including Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor with wife Mira, Kangana Ranaut, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Vivek Oberoi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Athiya Shetty, Sooraj Pancholi, Farah Khan and Vikas Bahl.
