Indian boxers MC Mary Kom and Vijender Singh will fight for medal on Monday, as a win in their respective quarter final matches will assure them of at least a bronze for India.

Mary Kom faces Maroua Rahali of Tunisia in the 51kg category while Vijender will fight former world champion Abbos Atoev of Uzbekistan in the 75 kg quarterfinals. Bronze medalist Gagan Narang will also be seen in action in Mens'50-metre rifle three positions.

Highlight of Indians on Day 9

Sunday would have been a forgettable day if not for MC Mary Kom's commendable performance in women's boxing which has been introduced in the Olympics for the first time. The five-time world champion from Manipur stormed into the quarter finals by beating Poland's Karolina Michalczuk 19-14.

In shooting, Manavjit Singh Sandhu, a former world champion, was in the fray for the Men's trap. He shot a total of 70 out of 75 in the first three rounds and two more rounds are scheduled for Monday. It's to be seen if he will qualify for the final.

Indian hockey team suffered another defeat on Sunday, going down 1-4 to South Korea in their group B match. It was India's fourth straight lost in the Olympics.
