In the upcoming Netflix series "Marvel's Luke Cage", there is a possibility that the titular character will become a part of Agent Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team in SHIELD from another Marvel series "Agents of SHIELD".

"Luke Cage" is all set to debut next year on Netflix and will tell the story of the titular character (Mike Colter), an ex-con with superhuman strength and unbreakable skin who now fights crime.

The character first made a cameo in another Netflix series "Marvel's Jessica Jones" where he portrayed the love interest of Jessica. He had a recurring role in "Jessica Jones" and Luke's character was praised by both the critics and the fans.

In an interview with IGN, Jeffrey Bell, executive producer of "Agents of SHIELD", had said that though there are constant hints of Luke joining Coulson's team, it doesn't necessarily mean it will happen.

"Honestly, we were looking for this part, and we just said, 'Look, all our parts are open to all diversity.' So the fact that we have a black dude who is awesome, doesn't mean it is 'you know who.'"

Though there has been no official confirmation, a crossover might happen between the television and web shows of Marvel.

DC's television shows like "Arrow" and "Flash" have done crossover episodes that have been quite a success and there is a significant chance that it will benefit Marvel's shows too.

Besides the crossover speculation, Mike Colter recently spoke about how "Luke Cage" is different from "Jessica Jones" even when both the shows share the same universe.

In an interview with Collider, he said: "It's all very similar, but at the same time, so very different. I think it's very smart and it will be very refreshing to see the same character examined with a different set of circumstances. The characters are all different, and that makes it very unique."

Whether the crossover between "Luke Cage" and "Agents of SHIELD" would take place is still not clear, but fans surely are looking forward to it.
