Maruti Suzuki's premium hatchback, codenamed YRA, is expected to make its India debut sometime in the second half of this year. The company has already started testing the new model, YRA hatchback, in India and the carparazzis have managed to catch the early glimpse of the model, while it was undergoing test round in the country.

The folks at IndianCarsBikes arranged the fresh batch of spy shots of YRA on Indian roads. The YRA hatchback from the house of Maruti was caught on camera earlier too, but this time the spies have managed to capture them on the public roads where it was spotted testing against its rival Hyundai Elite i20.

Maruti YRA is a global hatchback that made its maiden appearance through Suzuki iK-2 concept at the Geneva Motor Show 2015 will be launched in Europe in 2016. The test mule spotted lately was camouflaged completely; however, the spy shots of YRA can give an idea of the overall body proportion and outlines of the new model. The images also show the new alloy wheels of the premium hatchback YRA.

In India, the engine line-up of YRA hatchback is expected to pack 1.0 litre three cylinder turbocharged engine and a diesel mill. The model which will sit above the company's popular Swift hatchback will be 90kg lighter than Swift.

The YRA is expected to get features like steering-mounted controls, new music system with touchscreen, engine start stop button, electrically-adjustable OVRMs and reverse parking sensors. When launched in India, the premium hatchback offering of Marti will take on the likes of upcoming new Honda Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20.
