Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car maker, is all set to add AMT gearbox for the WagonR hatchback and ahead of the imminent launch, the car has reached the dealerships.

Maruti Suzuki dealers have started booking for the car starting at Rs 5,000 and IBTimes India's query to the dealership confirmed the delivery of the vehicle within a week.

The WagonR is the third model getting AMT in Maruti's product line-up after Celerio and Alto K10 sourced from Magneti Marelli. Under the hood, the WagonR AMT continues to draw power from the same 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine, which churns out a power of 67bhp at 6200rpm and 90Nm torque at 3500rpm. The engine is also available mated with five-speed manual transmission.

The WagonR AMT will not feature any changes in terms of style except for the AMT badging at the rear. The tall-boy designed hatchback measures 3,599mm in length, 1,495mm in width and 1,700mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,400mm. The hatchback comes with a ground clearance of 165mm.

There is no concrete information on the pricing even for the dealers. Going by the trend of other AMT equipped Maruti Suzuki cars, the WagonR AMT costs slightly premium.
