Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car maker, is celebrating as its popular Swift Dzire has managed to achieve the 10 lakh cumulative sales mark in India. The Swift Dzire sedan, which made its market debut in 2008, has entered the 'Elite 10 lakh' club in the country, announced the company.

Maruti's Alto (2.83 million), M800 (2.67 million), Omni (1.68 million), WagonR (1.63 million) and Swift (1.36 million) are the other models of the company, which are part of the 10 lakh club. Swift Dzire, the sedan based on Maruti's popular hatchback Swift, also has a fleet variant Dzire Tour that is also a hit in its segment. Swift Dzire received a full model change in 2012 and a facelift of the same was rolled out earlier this year.

Under the hood, the 2015 Dzire model packs the same tried and tested 1248cc DDiS diesel engine and 1197cc K series VVT engine. While the diesel model of the Swift Dzire is tuned to generate 75ps of power @ 4000rpm and 190Nm @ 2000 rpm peak torque, the petrol variant of the model can churn out 84.3ps @ 6000rpm and a torque of 115Nm @ 4000rpm. The new Swift Dzire packed features like new alloy wheels and electrically retractable ORVMs with turn indicators, front and rear accessory socket, updated music system and Engine push start / stop button.

As part of celebrations, Maruti Suzuki has announcd a month-long 'The sweets are on us' campaign, through which the company plans to share the moment with everyone. "The sweets are on us" campaign includes sending edible direct mailers to the existing owners and creating edible art installations inside malls by artists.
