If the emerging reports on the web are to be believed, Maruti Suzuki's next big offering S-Cross crossover is likely to be launched in the Indian market in early August.

A report of OverDrive states that the S-Cross crossover will make its market debut on 5 August. The bookings for Marut S-Cross are underway in the country and the model, which will take on the likes of Renault duster and Ford EcoSport, is speculated to get a price tag in the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 11 lakh.

Under the hood, Maruti S-Cross will come with two diesel engines - 200 DDiS 1.3-litre diesel motor that can churn out 89bhp of power and 200Nm of torque and 320 DDiS 1.6-litre diesel that is tuned to pump out 118bhp and 320Nm of torque. The five-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed manual gearbox are expected to take care of transmission.

S-Cross is expected to be offered in eight trims: 1.3L Sigma, 1.3L Sigma (O), 1.3L Delta, 1.3L Zeta, 1.3L Alpha, 1.6L Delta, 1.6L Zeta and 1.6L Alpha and is likely to pack features like driver airbag, key-less entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs, tilt-adjustable steering and smartplay infotainment system.
