Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest carmaker, seems to be gearing up for a slew of product launches in India next year. While Ignis and the powerful version of the Baleno hatchback, Baleno RS, is expected to join the product line-up in early 2017, the facelifted avatar of S-Cross is also likely to come to the Indian market late next year.

The S-Cross facelift, which was unveiled earlier this year will join the floor of the Nexa premium showrooms of Maruti Suzuki late next year, reports Autocar India. The S-Cross crossover was Maruti's first offering through Nexa dealerships.

In the new avatar, S-Cross dons a re-styled front bumper and a larger radiator grille along with new projector headlamps. The headlamp unit gets daytime running lamps and at the back, the S-Cross facelift gets slightly redesigned tail lamps and bumper. While the crossover stays very much within its current styling, it does come with new instrument cluster dials with MID and new seat upholstery with contrast stitching.

In the international markets, the S-Cross facelift now gets 1.4-litre Boosterjet petrol engine with four-wheel drive (4WD). While this engine is unlikely to make it to the Indian market and here the company is expected to offer the same 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel units. The 1.3-litre diesel motor churns out 89bhp power and 200Nm torque and 1.6-litre diesel engine tuned to pump out 118bhp and 320Nm.

Maruti Suzuki is believed to be looking at aggressive strategy for Nexa. If the latest reports are to be believed, 2017 will see at least three launches for Nexa—Ignis, Baleno RS and the S-Cross facelift. Currently, Nexa sells Baleno and S-Cross.
