With less than a month to go before the unveiling of Maruti's new sedan Ciaz in the country, the company has revealed the full specifications of the car on the official website.
Ciaz, Maruti's upcoming offering in the sedan segment is rumoured to make its India debut in the first week of October. Although the company is yet to confirm this date, looks like Maruti is all set to launch Ciaz in the country soon. The company has already started the bookings of Ciaz and now the key features and the new images of the upcoming Ciaz have also appeared online.
Under the hood, Maruti Ciaz will feature 1.3 litre Multijet diesel or 1.4 litre K Series petrol engine. While the 1.4 litre K series (K14B) petrol engine is capable of producing 95 PS power at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm peak torque at 4,000 rpm, the 1.3 litre DDIS diesel motor is tuned to churn out 90 PS at 4,000 rpm power and 200 Nm peak torque at 1,750 rpm. The engine of new Ciaz is tuned to deliver best in class fuel efficiency, with the petrol version of the car to give a return of 20.73 kmpl and the diesel model to give 26.21 kmpl.
The Ciaz will be available in four trims in both diesel and Petrol-VXi/VDi/ VXi+/VDi+, ZXi/ZDi, ZXi+/ZDi+ and will come in seven body colours -- Pearl Snow White, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, Pearl Sangaria Red, Metallic Silky Silver, Metallic Glistering Gray, Pearl Midnight Black and Metallic Clear Beige. Seated on a wheel base of 2650mm, Maruti's new Ciaz measures 4490mm in length, 1730mm in width and 1485mm in height .It offers ground clearance between 165-170mm.
The features on-board include SmartPlay infotainment system, dual tone dash board with wooden accents, climate control, reverse parking with rear parking sensors, premium leather upholstery, steering-mounted audio controls, ABS with EBD, electrically foldable OVRMs with turn key indicators, electric trunk opening, front and rear arm rest, rear AC vents, keyless entry, projector beam headlamps, push-button start, 16-inch alloy wheels and more.
The pricing details of Ciaz are yet to be known, however from what we heard last, Maruti will price its new sedan in the ₹7.2 lakh-₹10.5 lakh price brackets. Once it's in the market, Maruti Ciaz will rival Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Vento.
