The latest buzz that is whirling on the internet is that Maruti's diesel version of its Celerio will hit the roads on 3 June.

The latest tips come from Indian Car News citing the sources close to the development. Maruti's Celerio diesel has been in the news for quite a while now. The model was linked to different launch dates since its inception and the latest to add to the list is 3 June. Further, the report also says that the booking for upcoming diesel Celerio is likely to open by the end of this month. The first lot of Celerio diesel is likely to reach dealers of the company this week.

Under the hood, Maruti diesel Celerio will pack all-new 2 pot 800cc diesel motor, which is expected to churn out 35-40bhp and peak toque of 120-130Nm under the hood and will come mated to 5-speed manual gearbox. The model is expected to become the most fuel-efficient car in the country with a mileage of 30.1kmpl.

The diesel Celerio is likely to be offered in LDi, VDi and ZDi variants and is expcted to be priced at a premium of ₹60,000- ₹80,000 on the current Celerio model. When launched, Celerio diesel will be taking on the likes of Chevrolet Beat and Ford Figo in India.
