Latehar, Sep 08 (ANI): Maoists opened fire on a police patrol party in Jharkhand but nobody was injured, said a police officer. Acting on a tip-off, police laid a cordon to nab the militants but they managed to escape by taking cover of fire. Police officer, Deepak Kumar said Maoists had suffered losses during exchange of fire. Police recovered bullets and other materials from the spot. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s.
