Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini made final preparations for his injury-plagued side as they prepare to face Sevilla in Champions League Group D on Wednesday (21 October).

City star Yaya Toure has recently made controversial comments, criticising the medias coverage of his career at City, but Pellegrini said his outburst was due to a lack of recognition by the media, not his place at the club.

He says he is not happy about being unrecognised, not that he is unhappy here. He is happy as it is different to not be happy about the lack of recognition and not be happy. It is different words that you can interpret it the way you want but I think that Yaya is happy here and he doesnt have any problem, Pellegrini said at a news conference on Tuesday (20 October).

I think that, no I am sure that every team that plays in the Champions League wants to win the Champions League but it is not easy of course. The target in our club is to try and win every game that we play and if you win every game then maybe you can win the Champions League or the Premier League. It is not easy as you need a lot of work and lots of different things but we are working to try and win every game, he said.

The coach said Sevillas poor start to their domestic season will not affect their game very much in Europe. Everyone thought that Sevilla would be better in the Spanish League at the moment but for different reasons they have not started very well the season, but they have beat Barcelona and that is not easy. I spoke with the players this morning and we are sure we are going to play tomorrow against the real Sevilla which is a very difficult team and the Champions League is a different competition to the domestic league and I am sure at the end of the season we will seeSevilla again fighting for qualification for the Champions League. Nobody has given them credit for the Europa League which they won. They have important players with a good manager, they are a good team, he said.

Both teams have three points from two Group D matches after losing to Juventus and beating Borussia Moenchengladbach. The Italians look to maintain their 100 percent start to the group when they host Borussia Moenchengladbach.

City will have to play without top scorer Sergio Aguero who hit six goals in two games, five of them in 20 minutes against Newcastle United, before suffering a hamstring problem playing for Argentina. Playmaker David Silva was also injured on international duty and will miss Wednesdays game against his fellow countrymen.
