The official video of the "Njanga Poneanutta" sung by Dulquer Salmaan for Mammootty's film "Manglish" has been released. The promo song is a fast peppy number, composed by Gopi Sunder. The song is sung in Kochi slang and the lyrics are written by Santhosh Varma.

"Njanga Poneanutta"'s visuals are guided by actor Tiny Tom, who introduces life around Fort Kochi. The song is about Malik Bhai and his life in the city.

It introduces audience to the Kochi people and their dialect. The visual goes through fish markets, tourist spots and beaches in Fort Kochi and concludes that "nothing can beat the taste of food in Kochi." This is Dulquer's second outing as a singer after "Johny Mone Johny" from the film "ABCD", which was also composed by Sunder.

"After 'Johny Mone Johny,' I made sure I don't use Dulquer much for my songs," Sunder told International Business Times, India Edition. "His songs are definitely successful ones, so I knew if am going to make him sing again, it has to be a much bigger one."

"Now this song is definitely the right number for Dulquer," he added. "He is like a professional singer and makes sure he gives his best. Even if I say the take is okay, he will not be. He works more and more to come close to perfection, which sometimes is difficult to get from professional singers. His voice has a lot of freshness and the song is shaped up well."

The team had earlier released a few cuts from the song, which was already popular among the audience. The recently released song "Ulla, Ulla, Ulla" became popular within a few hours of its release. It was sung by Ameena and Gopi Sunder.

"I have given a fun Qawwali mood to the song and Santhosh Varma has done a great job by beautifully describing the lady who had crossed seas to reach Kochi. I am sure people are going to love this song. Music and lyrics have an earthy feel to it," added the composer.

The song describes Michelle (played by Caroline Bech) who had crossed seas to reach Kochi where her destiny is. The visuals of the song briefs her stay in Kochi and how she get accustomed to Malik Bhai's (played by Mammootty) life and surroundings. Michelle has mingled well with Bhai's family too. Meanwhile, Bhai is in the process of learning English to know more about Michelle and her life.

This Ramzan will see release of both Dulquer and Mammootty's films. Dulquer's "Vikramadithyan" is getting released on 25 July and Mammootty's "Manglish" will be released on 27 July.

"Manglish" directed by Salam Bappu also has Dutch actress Caroline Bech in the lead. Mammootty will play the role of Malik Bhai who is a familiar face in Cochin Harbour. Bhai is everybody's favourite as he is always there to lend help to the needy. His life takes a turn when Michelle, a foreigner enters his life. It will be a comedy entertainer that revolves around their confusion in communicating with each other.
