If we take a look at the Europa League 2016-17 Group A standings at the moment, Premier League giants Manchester United stand eliminated after four games. The Red Devils are third in the four-team group with Fenerbahce and Feyenoord occupying the top two positions.

United, who came close to bagging a morale-boosting win against Arsenal in the Premier League last weekend, but had to be content with a draw thanks to Olivier Giroud's late equaliser, take on Dutch giants Feyenoord in the return leg of their Europa League 2016-17 fixture on Thursday.

The first leg fixture in Rotterdam saw Jose Mourinho's men go down 1-0 to the Dutch side owing to a goal from Tonny Vilhena. Getting to exact a revenge on Feyenoord is paramount for Wayne Rooney and co now if they wish to see themselves in the round of 16 of the European competition this season.

Here's why:

  • If Fenerbahçe win and United lose, Fenerbahçe are through
  • If Feyenoord and Fenerbahçe both win, United and Zorya(from Group A) will both be out

"It was not a good game for us against Feyenoord [in September], but now we're playing at home, we want to win – we have to win," said United full back Matteo Darmian to MUTV.
