Manchester United have reportedly made a £7million offer to Benfica for their midfielder Enzo Perez, who is currently busy with Argentina in the 2014 World Cup.

The 28-year-old midfielder, who has been impressive at Benfica, since his arrival from Argentinean side Estudiantes in the summer of 2011, is expected to leave the Estádio da Luz this summer, with many top clubs reportedly interested in getting his signature.

Though he reportedly rejected offers from Valencia and Lazio, the Red Devils are confident that they can convince him to move to Old Trafford.

United have already made a £7million bid for the Argentinean midfielder, though they are yet to hold official talks with Benfica over the transfer, according to the Metro.

Perez, who is known for his excellent passing and creativity, has reportedly already impressed incoming Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal during Holland's loss against Argentina in the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup.

Meanwhile, Manchester United newbies Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera are looking forward to making their unofficial debut for the Red Devils as the squad prepares for their pre-season tour in the United States later this month.

"I can't wait to meet everyone and get started. It's something I'm really looking forward to," Manchester United's official website quoted Shaw, who recently completed a reported £30 million move from Southampton.

United will be kicking off their pre-season tour with a clash against LA Galaxy in Pasadena on 23 July, before facing Roma, Inter Milan and Real Madrid in the international Champions Cup on 26 July, 29 July and 2 August.

Finally, they will be heading to the Sun Life Stadium in Miami on 4 August, if they manage to reach the finals of the pre-season friendly cup.

And Shaw, who was involved with England's pre-World Cup fixtures against Honduras in the United States, said he is looking forward to playing in America again.

"I really love America," he added. "When I was younger, I went to a tournament out there in Dallas. It's a great country - with nice weather too!.

Ander Herrera, who also recently moved from Athletic Bilbao for a reported fee of £24 million, echoed Shaw's thoughts, saying that he too is looking forward to playing for United.

"I'm really excited to go with United to America. We will play some big games against Roma, Inter Milan and Real Madrid. It will be a dream for me to pull on the United shirt against them," said Herrera.
