Manchester City take on Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League 2017/18 clash at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, December 16.

Pep Guardiola's men have been undefeated this year (15 wins in a row) and they are heading into today's clash on the back of a crushing 4-0 win over Swansea City on the road on Wednesday, December 13. The Citizens extended their lead at the top of the table to 11 points last week when they edged past cross-town rivals and second-placed Manchester United at Old Trafford 2-1.

A lot is expected of today's clash as Spurs have a chance to stop the stunning run of the league leaders. Big names, including United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal, have failed to halt the City juggernaut, but Mauricio Pochettino is willing to take confidence from their recent results against the heavyweights.

Notably, Spurs collected a point at Etihad last season and even defeated 2-1 them in the 2015/16 season.

"Of course, City were behind us in the last two seasons and this season they were very consistent in signing, signing, signing, invest, invest, invest, and this season they are above us. But in the last two seasons, we were always above. We're not going to change because they improved a lot," Pochettino had said.

Can Spurs trouble City?

Spurs, with players known for their pace, have the ability to trouble the hosts in the much-anticipated clash. The likes of Son Heung-Min, Dele Alli and Harry Kane have to step up and deliver if Spurs are to stop City later today.

On the other hand, Spurs' backline, which will be without injured Toby Alderweireld, will have a busy day as the likes of Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling have set the league on fire so far. Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva are the visitors' biggest threats, considering their ability to find the right men at the right time.
