A blast that took place immediately after American singer Ariana Grande wrapped up her concert at the Manchester Arena in the UK left 19 people dead and around 50 injured on Monday, May 23.

Witnesses reported explosion as the cause for multiple deaths on social media. Greater Manchester Police stated that dead and injured people were being attended to in the foyer area.

"I was at the Ariana Grande show in Manchester. When the show had finished there was an explosion, a moment of silence and people started..." wrote a Twitter user monikered Pop Crave‏.

"I was inside Ariana Grande's concert in Manchester Arena. Right at the end an explosion was heard. Smoke on the corridors and blood," tweeted another concert goer named Critico en serio‏.

"As the Ariana Grande concert finished in Manchester, we heard a loud bang. We've all had to leave the arena," said a witness named Alex.

Greater Manchester Police also urged people to avoid the affected area. "Emergency services are currently responding to reports of an explosion at Manchester Arena. There are a number of confirmed fatalities and others injured. Please AVOID the area as first responders work tirelessly at the scene. Details of a casualty bureau will follow as soon as available," The Sun quoted police sources as saying.

Meanwhile, a representative of the 23-year-old pop singer revealed that she is safe and they are investigating the incident. "Ariana is okay. We are further investigating what happened," the person told NBC.

The singer also tweeted saying that she is "broken" and sorry for what happened at her concert. 

Popular Hollywood celebrities, including Demi Lovato, Katy Perry and Halsey, tweeted prayers and condolences for the victims and their families.
