It seems that a new Mammootty starrer is being announced every day. The latest in the list is "Acha Din" directed by G Marthandan. The upcoming film is touted as a complete family entertainer and the shooting of the film is expected to kick-start in February.

"Mammootty will play the lead in my next project as well. It is titled 'Acha Din' and will be a complete family entertainer. All I can say is that the movie has an interesting plot set in the backdrop of Ernakulam. Apart from Mammootty, we have not decided the other actors," said director Marthandan to The Times of India

Marthandan and Mammootty had previously joined hands for "Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus" in 2013. The action film was noted for its narrative style and Mammootty's look, but as whole received mixed reviews from the critics.

This upcoming movie is scripted by AC Vijeesh, who had previously scripted Mammootty's Lal Jose directorial, "Immanuel".

Currently, the actor is busy with his Christmas release, "Fireman". This film is directed by Deepu Karunakaran, known for films like "Teja Bhai and Family", "Winter" and "Crazy Gopalan".

Touted as an action movie, it will see Mammootty in the role of a fireman, Vijay, who is deeply focused in his service and the challenges he has to face in his career. The film also has Nyla Usha, Unni Mukundan, and Siddhique in pivotal roles.

Soon after the shooting of "Fireman", the actor will join director Siddique for his film "Bhaskar The Rascal". The film made headlines when the makers announced Nayanthara as the lead in the movie. "Bhaskar the Rascal" is Siddique's project with Mammootty after a 10-year gap. They had earlier worked together for movies including "Hitler" (1996) and "Chronic Bachelor" (2003), which were huge success in Kerala box office.

Meanwhile, Marthandan had previously announced that his next film will be the Prithviraj starrer, "Pavada", but has now confirmed that this project will kick-start only after Mammootty's "Acha Din".
