Popular Malayalam singer Manoj Krishnan died at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4. He breathed his last at PVS Memorial hospital in Kochi.
The hospital authorities informed International Business Times India that the noted singer suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest. Manoj was admitted to the hospital on April 30 for liver cirrhosis (CLD with hepatic encephalopathy) treatment. The funeral ceremony of the singer is expected to take place in Palakkad on Thursday.
The late singer has sung for Malayalam movies "Shudhamaddalam", "Sopaanam," "Manthrikkochamma," "Kalivaakku," "Thirakalkkappuram," "Subhadram" and "Mohitham." He has worked with legendary musicians Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri, SP Venkitesh, Yusufali Kecheri, Mohan Sithara, Bombay Ravi, Johnson master and others.
Singer Sujatha Mohan, who has sung "Aazhiyalappoonkuliraattam" for the 1998 movie "Thirakalkkappuram" with Manoj offered her condolences. "Feeling sad that Manoj Krishnan who was a highly talented singer passed away...RIP dear Manoj...[sic]," Sujatha wrote on her Facebook page.
"Very shocked to know the demise of dear Manojettan -Manoj krishnan. praying for his soul.....sleep in peace..[sic]," wrote singer Rajalakshmy Abhiram on her Facebook account.
