Popular Malayalam mimicry artiste Subhash Kollam passed away in Kochi on June 15. He died following a cardiac arrest at a private hospital in the city on Wednesday.

Subhash, a familiar face for the Kerala audience, participated in many comedy shows and stage programmes. He also acted in few Malayalam movies. The mimicry artiste was known for imitating former defence minister AK Antony, Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasurya and late versatile actor Kalabhavan Mani.

The sudden demise of the talented comedian has shocked the industry and the audience, who have been pouring condolence messages on social media. The funeral is expected to take place on Thursday.

2016 seems to be a bad year for Mollywood as many talented artistes of the industry passed away this year. Actors Kalabhavan Mani, Jishnu Raghavan, Sudhakaran, Kalpana, Kollam GK Pillai, R Govinda Pillai aka Kochaniyan, directors Saji Paravoor, Mohanroop, Rajesh Pillai, writer Akbar Kakkattil, music director Rajamani, singer Manoj Krishnan, cinematographer Anandakuttan, scriptwriter VR Gopalakrishnan, lyricist ONV Kurup are few among the notable personalities who left the world this year.
