SUV specialist Mahindra is reportedly working on yet another SUV, which will be based on the Ssanyong X100 platform. The platform also underpins the Ssanyong Tivoli compact SUV, which is expected to be launched in India soon.

"The new vehicle will be from the Mahindra stable and will cost less", said Pawan Goenka, executive director, Mahindra & Mahindra, reported Financial Express. There is no major information on the new SUV at the moment, but reports indicate that the SUV will be powered by an all new 1.5-litre petrol engine, which Mahindra developing under the Rs. 1000 crore investment on petrol vehicles. The same engine is also expected to be offered in the TUV300 and the NuvoSport later.

The X100 platform based new SUV is expected to be sandwich model between TUV300 and the XUV500. Mahindra has pointed out previously that the company is providing more choices for the customers with the new SUV launches. The X100 platform based SUV will also bolster the same concept.

The SsangYong subsidiary is all set to launch the Tivoli compact SUV soon and the vehicle was recently spotted testing in India. Mahindra showcased the Tivoli at Auto Expo 2016. In India, Mahindra is likely to use the 1.5-litre, mHawk100 diesel engine debuted with the TUV300. The SUV is expected price in the range of Rs.7 lakh to Rs. 11 lakh.
