Leading utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has added new features to the top-trim of its XUV500 line-up, the W10 Automatic. The additional features are keyless entry and start/stop button.

Although these features are already available in the manual version of the W10 variant, Mahindra was not offering the same in the automatic model. Now the features have been added in the W10 Automatic model at no additional cost.

Launched in three variants — W6, W8 and W10 — Mahindra XUV500 Automatic comes paired with a new 6-speed automatic gearbox developed by Japan's Aisin Seiki. The gearbox features in-built hill start assist, manual mode and creep function.

Apart from the two new additional features, the XUV500 remains the same as the current model. It comes powered by the same 2.2-litre mHawk engine that produces 140bhp at 3750rpm and 330Nm of torque in the range of 1,600-2,800rpm. The Mahindra XUV500 competes with the Hyundai Creta diesel, which is also available in automatic transmission.

The top-end variant of the XUV500 gets electric sunroof with anti-pinch and logo-projection lamps on ORVMs. Other features include touchscreen infotainment system with USB/GPS/Bluetooth connectivity, 6-way power adjustable driver's seat, tilt power steering, power foldable and adjustable ORVMs and projector headlamps.

Recently, Mahindra also launched the automatic variant of the 1.99litre XUV500 for Delhi-NCR. The XUV500 1.99litre automatic has been priced at Rs. 14.51 lakh. Under the hood, the XUV500 gets a downsized 1997cc four-cylinder engine, which can churn out 140bhp of power and 320Nm of torque.
