The long wait for the much-anticipated mini SUV TUV300 from the house of Mahindra is finally coming to an end as the model is ready to take to the roads on 10 September (Thursday).

The auto aficionados in India have heard plenty of information about the new TUV300 -- codenames, design elements and power plants -- and the only thing that is actually left to see is its new price tag.

Now the latest buzz on the internet is that Mahindra's new TUV300, the rival of Ford EcoSport, is likely to get a price tag of Rs 6.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). A report of NDTV Auto, citing its sources, reveals that the sub-compact SUV TUV300 that will sit above Quanto may fall in the price range of Rs 6.70 lakh to Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).

From what we know so far, Mahindra TUV300 is likely to be available in six exterior body shades -- red, white, silver, black, blue and orange. Mahindra TUV300 is expected to be offered in three variants -- T4, T6 and T8 -- and will get features like a touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera and alloy wheels.

Under the hood, Mahindra TUV300 is expected to come plonked with 1.5-liter twin-scroll mHawk80 diesel engine, a revised version of Quanto's engine, which is tuned to produce 80 bhp and 230 Nm of torque. The transmission in TUV300 will be taken care of by either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT gearbox.

TUV300 is also rumoured to get Mahindra's Micro Hybrid technology, which is seen in the company's models like Scorpio. Micro Hybrid technology will help to save fuel by switching off the engine when the vehicle comes to a halt.
