Popular UV-maker Mahindra and Mahindra is all set to pull the wraps off its new SUV NuvoSport in India April 4. Now, ahead of the launch of the Nuvosport, the facelifted avatar of Quanto, company has put up a website for its new SUV, giving an early look at the design and styling of the compact SUV.

Mahindra NuvoSport, which is likely to be positioned between the TUV300 and KUV100, will take on the likes of Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in India. The NuvoSport has been designed and developed in-house by the Mahindra design team, while its research and development has been carried out at the Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai.

Underpinning the new-generation platform as the Scorpio, the NuvoSport is expected to include a 1.2-litre mHawk and a 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel engine under the hood. The transmission in the new compact SUV is likely to be taken care of by a five-speed manual gearbox in both engine options. There have also been rumours that the NuvoSport could get an automated manual transmission (AMT) variant. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.

The new compact SUV is likely to sport upmarket interiors and is expected to come with features like a new infotainment system with touchscreen, eight-way adjustable seats with lumbar support and a new steering wheel. Mahindra NuvoSport is expected to be priced around Rs 6.5 lakh.
