Mahindra and Mahindra launched the new compact SUV — the NuvoSport — in India Monday, April 4. The new NuvoSport, a copiously tweaked version of the Quanto, has been priced starting at Rs.7.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane). 

The NuvoSport, based on an all-new platform of the company, will replace the Quanto, the first compact SUV offering of Mahindra. The new SUV offering of Mahindra will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport in the Indian market. The NuvoSport is the second compact SUV offering of Mahindra to come equipped with automated manual transmission (AMT) after the TUV 300.

Offered in three main variants and three sub-variants — N4, N6 and N8 and N4+, N6 AMT, N8 AMT — the NuvoSport comes donned in six body paints — red, orange, blue, white, black and silver. It gets safety features such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD and crumple zones and these come as optional including in the base variants. The bookings for the NuvoSport will start April 4. 

Powering the new NuvoSport is a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder diesel mHawk100 engine, which is tuned to belt out 100bhp of power and 240Nm of peak torque. The transmission is taken care of by a five-speed manual gearbox and the mid and top variants offered with AMT. The engine gets two drive modes — Power and Economy — and claims to offer a mileage of 17.45 kmpl. 

Coming to the styling and design of the NuvoSport, the SUV gets newly styled front fascia with bold front grille and day time running lights. The rear of the new SUV includes tailgated mounted spare wheel, smoky tail lamps and rear spoiler.

Inside the cabin, the NuvoSport features black and grey themed interiors and packs houses faux leather upholstery, touch screen infotainment system, steering mounted audio and phone controls and cruise control. The NuvoSport comes with 5+2 seating layout with reclining second raw. It offers a boot space of 412 litre.
